N’awlins Luxury: Laura, Oak Alley or Whitney Plantation Tour w/Transportation

The tour was very organized. We got a call the previous evening to let us know the pick up time. Our guide, Dionne, called us to let us know about she was on the way a few minutes before pick up. She was a nice guide, informing us about the sights on the way there. She also dropped us off at a spot different from the pick up location, which was very nice. One suggestion to the organizers - We would have liked about 15 -30 min longer at Oak alley plantation. We get dropped off last there and picked up first, so we have slightly lesser time than the others. An additional 15-30 min would be lovely!

Before traveling to New Orleans the Whitney Plantation tour was a “must see”. I must say ...I was not disappointed at all!! We were picked up from our hotel as expected - on time and our driver was very friendly and informative . She was very patient and shared a lot of information about the city and the state on the drive to the plantation .Once at Whitney we had time to look in the gift shop and exhibit prior to our tour. The exhibition was very informative and easy to read for all levels .We were greeted by Ali, our tour guide which started on time at 10. Ali is truly a walking encyclopedia!!! He has a deep knowledge of the history of the plantation and of New Orleans in general. Ali kept you interested and welcomed all questions. At the end he was so helpful in sharing with us what the different books in the gift shop were about. He is truly a gem !After Whitney , our driver showed us other interesting homes along the way and shared many tales and stories . All of this intrigued you and left you with a great appreciation of the history of the region!

The driver Dionne gave us a great history of the city post Katrina on the drive to the Whitney Plantation which was an unexpected bonus. The Whitney was phenomenal. Reverent. Full of information and context.

If you're looking to visit a plantation, Whitney is a must. Although less glamorous than Laura and Oak Alley, The Whitney Plantation is a living memorial to the millions of men, women, and children sold or born into slavery in America. Their mission to preserve the stories of slaves. This is not an easy tour. It will challenge what you thought you knew about slavery and the long reaching effects that the treatment of these people has had on their descendants.Thank you N'awlins Luxury Tours for picking us up and bringing us to the Whitney. Our driver was wonderful - warm, welcoming, and funny! She gave us a great primer to the Plantation as well as some fun facts about the city of New Orleans along the way. I would definitely use this company again!

My husband and I went on a tour of Whitney Plantation, which was very good but the star of the day was Dionne! She went above and beyond to make sure that we along with the rest of our group were well taken care of, and just had the most pleasant personality and super down to earth.

We visited the Whitney Plantation on 4 Oct with N’awlins Luxury Travel. We were picked up at our hotel promptly by Dionne, who was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing local information she thought we would find interesting on the journey. As we were a little early for the guided tour at Whitney, Dionne stopped at a great little cafe en route for us to get refreshments. The guide at Whitney (apologies, I cannot remember her name but her grandfather had a share crop there in the 70s), was also great, she knew her stuff and shared the stories of the enslaved with respect. Her personal connection to the plantation through her grandfather made the stories even more real. It was a humbling experience and we would definitely recommend the trip.Dionne was then kind enough to recommend some restaurants and drop us at one for lunch on the return journey.

We had a great day out with N’awlins luxury tours. We did the Whitney Plantation which I would recommend to everyone- so educational with an excellent tour and touching memorials to all people that were enslaved there. It was also good to get out of the city. N’awlins Luxury Tours were the cheapest by around $20 if you booked online, and they were totally brilliant! They picked us up from our hotel and gave us a tour on our way out to the plantation. The mini bus was perfect- clean and new. We also booked quite last minute- the chat function on their website was excellent and Dionne was able to check last minute availability and release the tickets for us. She was also our tour guide on the day and did a great job- she was so helpful and knowledgable and a great driver. Thanks for a great experience.

The Whitney Plantation tour (which is run by a Whitney employee/volunteer) was excellent. It's focus was the experience of slaves at the plantation, and I found it very thought provoking. The bus companies that provide the tours to Whitney provide transport to and from. I thought that N'awlins provided an excellent service. Our driver Dionne was friendly, helpful and provided lots of interesting information about the places we were passing on the way to the plantation. When looking at that available options for getting to Whitney - N'awlins was significantly cheaper than the other companies, which is amazing because their service seemed to be faultless.

Dionne picked us up in front of our rental house and drove us to Laura Plantation. She is a New Orleans native and knows a lot about the city. The coach was comfortable and cool. The entire process from start to finish ran smoothly, and I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. Highly recommended!
