This was an amazing tour and Jeff was such an amazing guide! We were a group of 14, but he went out of his way to make the process as seamless as possible despite taking on a larger group than normal. There was even a hilariously decorated bike for my partner’s birthday! The food was fabulous and Jeff told us so many interesting facts about the history and culture while eating. The last stop had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River while ate our po boys on some benches outside. If you want a fun tour of the beautiful neighborhoods while getting to experience good food as a local instead of a tourist, I would 100% recommend this experience, and tell Jeff we said hi!

We ended up being the only two on the tour so I really appreciate that Matthew still took us out and made it a special day. This is our 6th or 7th Culinary Backstreets tour and the NOLA tour did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Good food and great times in NOLA!
This tour was outstanding! The food was fantastic and we were lucky as it was just my wife and me as guests on the tour. Our guide Kelly was fantastic as well. She’s a local and her knowledge of the local history and culture, and her personal connection to the music scene, all shared while walking between venues made the trip both fun and educational. And the food! Beignets, muffuletta, gumbo, red beans and rice, gator balls. Highly recommend this tour and get Kelly as your guide.

Take this tour early in your trip so that you can go back and eat at the restaurants.
The food was amazing. I tried food that I didn’t think I would like just to say I tried it, and ended up eating the whole thing because it was so delicious. It is a ton of food, make sure you are really hungry. Go early in your trip so that you can come back to some of the restaurants. We went the day before we were leaving and we all regret that. We wish we would have done it the first day so we could have gone back to the area to eat. We would go back and eat at every single stop we made, plus there were other restaurants we passed that we did not stop at that looked amazing and we wish we would have been able to eat at. There is plenty of free parking in the area. We took an Uber to the tour and back, but wish we would have driven ourselves from the hotel. We could have saved ourselves some money. Our guide was funny and very knowledgeable of the area. I would take this tour again the next time we come to New Orleans. We had crawfish empanadas, red beans and rice balls, catfish po boys, pralines, fried oysters, eggplant with crab, bread pudding, and an amazing pizza.

We'll be back!
We had a wonderful time with Leanne. She is fun and energetic and offered several times to help with recommendations since it was our first time visiting. All the food was awesome and she gave us a great introduction to the neighborhoods. Praline cream filled beignets. Yum. It looks like we will be coming back next year to spend more time in the areas she took us to. I would highly recommend Leanne and will look at her other tours for next time. Ivy Edmonds-Hess
