New Orleans City Tours

It's a good walk in a beautiful park. We really like the self guided audio tours because we go at our own pace. Two people can share a pair of Bluetooth ear buds so it is also a great value over a tour with a guide.

It was informative and perfectly timed! Love how it matches up to your GPS and where you’re walking. definitely do something like this again.

This tour is just perfect for walkers, cyclists or even motorists. The stops are beautiful and engaging. I especially loved hearing about the Free People of Color in New Orleans as well as the less well known tales of the Luling Mansion.

GREAT tour of a beautiful and historic NO. neighborhood The narrator is a native and folds in personal references that authenticate the tour--unlike many other tour guides. I also like that I can stop it and dwell on the beauty of an old home or historic site before moving on just by operating my phone...certainly better than following a person in a group pf 10-12 when much is missed. Cannot beat it for 5 bucks, and you'll go away appreciating the city much more.

I have lived here all my life and learned things hat I never knew. It was a beautiful day. I highly recommend this picturesque informativewalk.

The narrative was very well done. I learned a lot and enjoyed listening to it. It was very impressive that the system could detect where I was standing and start the narrative regarding that spot. I will definitely look for these again.

We are locals and this is one of our favorite spots in the city - but to really dive in and intently walk the streets of the Esplanade Ridge was absolutely incredible! We learned so very much and at our own pace could really digest the intricacies and fascinating history of the area. We loved the small details, folklore and stories that really brought the area alive for us. You could imagine the residents in each house sipping a cognac and telling tales in the parlor ! We celebrated at the incomparable Cafe Degas and we simply cannot recall a more pleasant Saturday afternoon! The rich history is brought to life in a way that few other venues can offer. This is a must do!!!

This tour is so much better than any commercial tour you could take with a bunch of other people. Go at your own pace, listen again if you like, explore a beautiful area of the city. This tour is packed with well-researched history and culture that is a steal for the price. I took this tour after enjoying Walking the Treme by the same author.

Very well done, once we were oriented to the system. The sign on could have been much easier. After we paid, Just give us a one button link to the tour please ! All the security measures you have and all the code numbers are not your customers cross to hear. If somebody doesn’t want to pay the $10 - and hire thru the trouble to sneak into the tour without paying - they are not a customer anyway. For most of the customers you want, they are not going to try to free ride the tours. Not worth it to them / the price is quite fair for value received

This self guided audio tour uses the app 'VoiceMap' which my husband and I have had mixed experiences with. The app initially would not pick up our GPS location and we consequently walked in the wrong direction - but once we restarted it, it was smooth sailing. The information on the audio guide was interesting. The voice over, tone and method of delivery made it seem very personal and warm. The only complaint we had is that - at one point the guide had us walk over to an underpass and told us to explore the area under the bridge. That area though was inhabited by displaced individuals living in tents etc. Unsure if the guide was made before they took over that area, but it was very confusing to say the least for my husband and I.Our recommendations if you do the audio tour: - There is alot of walking - so be prepared - Plan your trip so you aren't too close to sunset or peak afternoon heat - The tour starts in Louis Armstrong park but only covers a small portion of it, if you want to check out more of the park, account for that in your time. - The tour references and walks by certain stores and coffee shops - all of which close around 2-3pm.We'd recommend the tour for anyone who likes exploring at their own pace and is comfortable with long long walks.
